I love seafood. Always have. A couple of weeks ago, Ann made some halibut that she got when she went to Canada last summer. She used a recipe from her friend Jack, and it was absolutely incredible! We ate so much, I dare not think about how much it would have cost in a restaurant. Yikes

however, whenever I eat seafood, I feel a little bit guilty because of all of those stories that you hear about overfishing and the damage being done to the oceans and marine life. Fortunately, I came across this website that lists which fish come from sustainable sources. The good news is, there are a lot of choices! Quite a few are in abundance

like the website says, You Have the Power. Your consumer choices make a difference. Buying seafood that is in abundance and ecologically sound will support those fisheries and fish farms that are healthier for ocean wildlife and the environment

I bring this up because with all of the options that are acceptable, one does not really have to make a sacrifice. Just an informed decision. An easy way to help out the earth

So, if you ever buy seafood, check it out.

And our halibut passes the test! As a general rule, Pacific = Purchase, Atlantic = Avoid
